The Girl Who Stood at the Edge
The Girl Who Stood at the Edge, 24” x 20”, acrylic on canvas, from the Lives of Children painting series. This series evolved from reflections and remembrances of childhood while working on my 2006 installation, IN OUR NAME: Iraqi children in War. In these paintings, a tattered dress, a waving hand, or a covered face can suggest fragmented childhood memories of apartness, indecision and loss. Shown in 2007 at the John Davis Gallery, Hudson, NY, and The Sanctuary for Independent Media, Troy, NY.
