In 2007, Christine Heller constructed her third installation, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, in response to the tumult of the Iraq War. It was comprised of dark muslin figures tangled in wire and rope that were nameless, faceless, limp and skeletal. They represented American soldiers, Iraqi citizens, prisoners at Guantanamo or those tortured at Abu Ghraib. This piece was shown in the 40' elevator shaft at the John Davis Gallery in Hudson, NY and at the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY.
