America Comes Home 2005
America Comes Home was first constructed in 2005, with anonymous, lifeless, muslin figures lining the walls to represent the mounting numbers of dead soldiers in the Iraq War, as well as the compromised lives of thousands of maimed troops. Combined with the calendars numbering war dead and photos of injured and disabled soldiers and their families, this exhibition is a tribute to the people fighting the Iraq War and a memorial to the dead.
This installation was shown in 2005 at Emma Willard School, Troy, NY, at Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY as part of the show "Politics as Usual: 8 Artists on US Foreign Policy" and at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, Pittsfield, MA.
