In Our Name: Iraqi Children in War 2006
The installation was an emotional response to the war-it is not meant to be an exhaustive view of what is happening to Iraqi children. When I accidentally came across internet photos of bandaged, bloodied and crying Iraqi children I was appalled: "How could this happening to children?" "Shouldn't we all be trying to protect them?" "It doesn't matter that they are Iraqi children; they are children, to be protected, kept safe and cared for."
My intention is that my work will be a catalyst for others; to sensitize people to what is really happening in Iraq and to galvanize support for an end to the war in Iraq.
